DODA, Oct 31: During an event, District Police Doda organised a cultural programme and paid rich tribute to the martyr cops for their supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The event was organized under the supervision of SSP Doda, Mohd Aslam along with Additional SP Doda, Shakeel Rehman Bhat while other Police Gazetted Officers/officials were also present on the occasion besides a large number of prominent citizens.
A colourful programme was presented by artists at the function. The aim of organizing this event was to inculcate the spirit of patriotism, nationalism and oneness among the younger generation besides remembering the bravery and sacrifices of martyrs who have made their supreme sacrifice for the integrity and sovereignty of the country.
Meanwhile, in the memory of Police martyrs, District Police Doda also organized a debate competition on ‘Role of Police in Nation Building’.
Students from various schools participated in the debate competition and delivered insightful and thought-provoking speeches.
Salika Batool of Faridiya Model HSS Doda secured 1st position, Farhan Ali of GDC Doda secured 2nd position and Atifa Jann of Chenab Valley HSS Doda secured 3rd position in the debate and they were felicitated with cash rewards and Certificates of Merit.
Other participants were felicitated with Participation Certificates.
In his message, Additional SP Doda, Shakeel Rehman Bhat lauded the sacrifices of Police martyrs and emphasised their role in upholding national peace and integrity.
Apart from this, Doda District Police along with District Administration Doda celebrated Ekta Diwas and organised a Mini Marathon (Run for Unity) in this regard, the other day, to remember the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the country.
The marathon was flagged off by DC Doda, Harvinder Singh and SSP Doda, Mohd Aslam.
Participants who stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the marathon were facilitated with the cash rewards and certificate of the merit by DC Doda and SSP Doda.
