ATTARI : Two Pakistani nationals, who had inadvertently crossed over to the Indian territory, were sent back to Pakistan, a senior BSF official informed today.
According to BSF’s Deputy Inspector General, R P S Jaswal, the two Pakistanis were handed over to Pakistan’s border guarding force, the Rangers.
Jaswal said the duo were apprehended in two separate incidents.
In the first incident, Pakistani national identified as Roshan (28), a resident of Karachi, was nabbed near Attari sector on April 30. After enquiry, it was found that he had crossed over to India inadvertently and was set free on the same day, he said.
In another incident, Sajid Ali (23), also from Karachi, was arrested from Naushera Dhalla sector of Indo-Pak border when he crossed over to India mistakenly yesterday.
He was also handed over to Pakistani authorities yesterday itself, he said.
The BSF officer said during questioning both these Pakistani nationals were found to be inadvertent border crossers and nothing objectionable was recovered from their possession.
Jaswal also said during this year so far, six Pakistani who crossed over to the Indian side (including these two) have been handed over to Pakistan Rangers by the BSF. (AGENCIES)
