JAMMU, Nov 2: Dr. Ranjit Singh, a leading joint replacement surgeon, has set a new benchmark in knee replacement surgery by performing a full knee replacement in just 20 minutes.
The surgery was performed on Baljit Singh, a 110-kg patient from Abohar, Punjab, who had long suffered from severe osteoarthritis in both knees. Baljit Singh, who was initially apprehensive about surgery, was convinced by the positive experiences of other elderly patients who had undergone similar procedures with Dr Ranjit.
The operation took place at Ivy Hospital in Amritsar, where Dr Ranjit utilized his pioneering “Zero Error” technique. Remarkably, within hours of surgery, Baljit Singh was able to walk without pain, and by the second day, he was moving independently and managing daily activities, including going to the washroom without assistance. Reflecting on his rapid recovery, Baljit expressed regret for not pursuing surgery earlier.
With an impressive record of 20,000 surgeries over 16 years, Dr Ranjit Singh attributes the fast-track recovery to his unique “Zero Error” approach. Unlike robotic knee replacement procedures, which can be time-intensive and often come with risks like infection, fractures, and muscle damage, Dr Ranjit’s technique minimizes complications, allowing for quicker, less painful recoveries.
Dr Ranjit, who is currently affiliated with Ivy Hospital Amritsar, has previously served at prestigious institutions including Fortis Hospital Amritsar, Apollo Hospital Amritsar, and Shalby Hospital Ahmedabad. His innovative approach continues to draw attention from patients and medical professionals alike, establishing new standards in joint replacement surgery.
