Modi not to campaign in Amethi

LUCKNOW, May 2:  BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi is expected to  skip Amethi like he did for Rae Bareli,in his campaigning in Uttar  Pradesh where polling is scheduled on May 7.
BJP has fielded TV star and Rajya Sabha member Smriti Irani against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi from Amethi seat but absence of Modi in Amethi would certainly gave the BJP candidate a set back. AAP has fielded poet Kumar Viswas from the seat.
There is a war of words between Modi and Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandi Vadra but skipping rally in Amethi has dampened the prospect of the BJP candidate, who is said to be close to BJP PM candidate and also a RS member from Gujarat.     Modi has also not campaigned in Rae Bareli, where Congress president Sonia Gandhi had contested.  Campaigning in Amethi ends on May 5 evening and Modi programme does not include Amethi as of now.
Sources in the BJP here today said that  Modi’s scheduled for next 3 days, though it is not official, says he is not to address any rally tomorrow while on May 4 he will address three rallies at Allahabad,Phoolpur and Bhadoi and on the last day of campaigning he is expected to address a rally at Faizabad.    Today,Modi is holding election meetings in Sant Kabirnagar, Basti, Gonda and Balrampur of Uttar Pradesh.
