JAMMU, Nov 4: Shiv Sena (UBT) here today staged a protest demonstration demanding that Jammu should be declared as permanent capital of J&K.
The protest was led by Manish Sahni, J&K Shiv Sena president and the protesters were holding placards with slogans like ‘Give Jammu its Right’, ‘Declare Jammu as Permanent Capital’ etc.
Addressing the protesters Sahni said that after becoming a Union Territory, the business and jobs of Jammu have been affected due to the involvement of outsiders while the ending Darbar Move tradition further hit interests of Jammu business.
“CM Omar Abdullah should declare Jammu as the permanent capital of J&K in the ongoing Assembly session itself,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained adding, “Jammu will prove better for entire J&K in terms of security and weather.”
He said that BJP MLAs, who claim themselves as custodians of Jammu, should bring a resolution in this regard in the current session of Assembly.
Sahni has appealed to all the well-wishers of Jammu and all the affected business and commercial organizations to come together in this regard.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena has strongly condemned the grenade attack on Sunday market near TRC in Srinagar yesterday in which 12 people were injured.
Shiv Sena working president Jai Bharat, senior vice president Balwant Singh, Rajesh Jandial, Jammu city president Rohan Malwal, secretary Geeta Lakhotra, Dimple, Munish and others were also present in the protest.
