JAMMU, Nov 4: All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) delegation called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Dr Arvind Karwani and submitted a representation to him urging that the problems of migrants be resolved on war footing basis.
The memorandum turned the attention of RRC towards the burning problems of KP community of various camps particularly Jagti township and demanded pure drinking water facilities at Jagti be provided by digging bore wells so that the inmates of the township don’t suffer any more.
It also demanded maintenance of parks which have become the dust bins and breeding place of mosquitoes, early disposal of EWS files pending in office, renovation of buildings, macadamisation of street roads in Jagti township, deployment of police for security purposes in the township, posting of chowkidars for watch and ward of community halls and accountability of money earned through the community halls during marriages and other social functions, rotational deputation of PM package employees from Valley.
The delegation also demanded removal of encroachments from land and other property of migrants in Valley release of balance ex-gratia, relief, release of rice, flour and sugar quota to pensioners and Government employees, allotment of space for establishment of business units to those migrant youth who are willing to do their own business.
The delegation was led by AIMCCC Chairman, B K Raina who was accompanied by its president, Desh Rattan Pandita, J L Raina, Anil Kumar Mehta, Bimal Kumar Wantoo, Sunil Kumar Kachroo and others.
