Civil Society of Old Janipur raises demands

JAMMU, Nov 4: A meeting of J&K Civil Society Old Janipur Development Action Committee was held here today to discuss the issues of the area.
Speakers in the meeting raised demands like installation of CCTV cameras connected with Police Station and chopping off of the branches of big trees at JDA Park of Old Janipur.
They also demanded repair of lanes, drains, blacktopping of roads in Mohallas like Shant Nagar, Pandoka Colony, Indira Vihar, Kabir Nagar and adjoining areas of JDA Park of Old Janipur.
Committee members in the meeting claimed that residents adjoining to the Park suffer due to disturbances created by those playing football, cricket, doing cycling, stray dogs and those drinking liquor.
They demanded that all these activities should be stopped immediately.
Speakers in the meeting also said that maximum lights in the park were not working and the present condition of the park was very pathetic.
Demand of a watchman for the Park and construction of Nag temple along with a centre hut for senior citizens were also raised.
The Committee members urged the concerned authorities on behalf of morning and evening walkers to seriously look into the matter as soon as it is possible so that the people may heave a sigh of relief.
