JAMMU, Nov 5: Red Ribbon Club, Government Degree College Marh, in collaboration with Department of Immunohematology and Transfusion Medicine, Govt. Medical College, Jammu, National Blood Transfusion Council (NACO) and JKACS, Jammu organized a maiden Blood Donation Camp in the college premises under the supervision of Principal Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Koul.
About 70 students participated and donated blood.
The Principal urged the students to actively participate in this virtuous act. He noted that blood donation was one of the best ways to thank humanity and God. “Besides, saving precious lives of our fellow citizens during tough times, it helps the donor by activating the bone marrow, lowering blood pressure and leading to various other health benefits,” he added.
Dr. Taseer Mehraj (Sr. IHBT) from GMC Jammu raised awareness among the college students about the importance of blood donation and his team including Savita (Sr. Staff Nurse), Renu Sharma (Sr. Staff Nurse), Sonu (Counsellor), Badal (MTS), Rafiq, Pawan Sharma accompanied him in the double decker bus. The camp was organized by Red Ribbon Club convenor Prof. Anjana Chib and coordinated by Dr. Shakun Sharma and Dr. Sheetal Sharma.
