KUPWARA, May 4: Castigating PDP for carrying the bogus propaganda of change, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is also working president of National Conference, today said that infact by ‘change’ PDP means its attempt to bring Narendra Modi and BJP in power at the Centre as against UPA and Rahul Gandhi.
“As is evident that Parliamentary Election is for electing the Parliament and the Prime Minister of the country and it has nothing to do with the election of the Chief Minister and the MLAs, as such, by raising the false slogan of ‘Badlau’ (change) PDP means bringing BJP and Narendra Modi to power at New Delhi”, Omar maintained.
“The leadership of PDP is helping Narendra Modi to seek his blessings to grab power in the State by implementing divide and rule policy as was witnessed by people of Jammu and Kashmir in 2002 when BJP engineered the installation of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as the Chief Minister of the State despite having the support of only a small group of MLAs”, he said and appreciated the people for understanding the conspiracy being hatched by BJP and PDP against Jammu and Kashmir. He thanked the people for rallying behind NC-Congress to counter this conspiracy.
Omar Abdullah was addressing largely attended public gatherings at Kupwara and Lolab organized in favour of the NC-Congress joint candidate from Baramulla-Kupwara Parliamentary constituency Sharief-ud-Din Shariq.
The NC working president cautioned the people against the hidden league between BJP and PDP and urged them to foil the anti-J&K designs of BJP by ensuring the defeat of PDP candidate in Baramulla-Kupwara Parliamentary constituency.
Omar Abdullah said that NC-Congress alliance is for safeguarding and strengthening the secular democratic credentials of the Country, as such, supports Rahul Gandhi for Prime Ministership who represents the aspirations of all sections of the society and all the regions of the country.
The working president, National Conference appealed the people vote whole heartedly and in large numbers in favour of NC-Congress coalition candidate and help positively to arrest the march of Narendra Modi towards the power seat in New Delhi.
Omar Abdullah said the track record of Sharief-ud-Din Shariq as Member Parliament has been of high standard and he has always raised Jammu and Kashmir centric issues in the Parliament and worked for seeking liberal financial help to the State for its faster growth and development in the past and would continue to do so in future.
The election rallies were also addressed by Provincial President, National Conference Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani, Minister for CAPD, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Law Minister, Mir Saifullah, contesting NC-Congress candidate, Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, District NC President, Qaisar Jamsheed Lone and various senior leaders of National Conference and Congress.
