JAMMU, May 4: Police today rescued twenty-three bovine animals in two separate incidents.
As per police sources, a police team from Nehru Market police post headed by SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta laid a naka at Panama Chowk and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AL-4513.
During search, 18 bovine animals were rescued, which were being illegally transported from Jammu to Srinagar.
The driver of the said vehicle fled from the spot.
A case under FIR number 95/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act was registered at police post Nehru Market and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
Meanwhile, a police team from Bishnah police station headed by SHO Narinder Singh laid a naka at Deoli Pull and intercepted a Tata mobile bearing registration number JK02AS-8572.
During checking, five bovine animals were rescued, which were being illegally transported from Bishnah to Poonch. The driver of the said vehicle fled from the spot.
A case under FIR number 65/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act was registered at police station Bishnah and investigation is going on.
