UDHAMPUR, Nov 11: In a significant advancement for regional infrastructure, Pawan Gupta, MLA Udhampur West, & Ranbir Singh Pathania, MLA Udhampur East, inaugurated a crucial road project connecting the Government Women College to the Industrial area in Battal Ballian.
This initiative is designed to improve accessibility for students and residents alike, ensuring smoother travel and enhanced connectivity. Both MLAs are committed to the timely and qualitative completion of this project, emphasizing their dedication to maintaining high construction standards and ensuring community involvement throughout the process.
Earlier, MLA Pathania has initiated Stage 2 works on the Sumwal to Sarial Chowa road, which entails an investment of Rs 1.69 crore. This development will create a vital shortcut between Manwal and Surinsar, facilitating easier access to scenic locales while promoting tourism and supporting local businesses. The newly constructed road will pass through wildlife and forest areas, providing not only a valuable route for public use but also an opportunity to appreciate the region’s natural beauty.
Pathania also conducted a comprehensive discussion with concerned officers of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) roads in Udhampur, assessing the feasibility and progress PMGSY projects. He stressed the importance of timely completion of metalled roads to strengthen the health system and improve emergency response times in rural areas.
Pathania also expressed his commitment to further enhancing road infrastructure by advocating for the designation of proposed highways, including the Basantgarh-Dudu and Samba-Battal-Udhampur routes, as National Highways. This upgrade would significantly enhance connectivity and stimulate economic development across the region.
In a demonstration of his commitment to community engagement, MLA Pathania held a grievance redressal session at the party office in Battal Balian. He listened attentively to local residents’ concerns regarding access to drinking water, healthcare services, electricity supply, and educational facilities. Pathania assured attendees that their grievances would be addressed promptly and effectively.
The inauguration event was attended by notable figures including Puran Chand, DDC Udhampur, Santosh Kumari, Sarpanch, Subhash Sharma, Gopal Singh Mankotia, Ashish Sharma, Mandal Pradhan, Rohit Sethi, Deep Singh, Pawan Sharma and others.
