JAMMU, Nov 12: JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra today announced that committees at all levels shall be reconstituted and further strengthened.
Chairing a review meeting of the party, here today, the PCC chief asked the party leaders and workers to gear up their activities in the wake of ULB & Panchayat elections in near future & assured them to strengthen the grass root committees, block committee, district committees with induction of right & dedicated & committed workers at all levels.
He said that till new committees are constituted, the existing district & block committees shall continue to function and asked them to gear up their activities in respective areas. Stating that second line leadership shall be encouraged and promoted based on merit, he said that there shall be no favoritism or bias in giving opportunities to work in the organization.
Karra also said that a campaign shall be launched and series of programs shall be initiated to revive & strengthen the basic ideology of the party. He said that the idea of INDIA is the India of Congress, so revival of idea of Congress means strengthening INDIA.
The meet also discussed preparations of the party to celebrate the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, besides birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Constitution Day.
The meeting was attended by senior leaders, former Ministers/ ex- Legislators, DCC presidents, frontal wings & ex Corporators. Working presidents Tara Chand & Raman Bhalla were also present.
The meeting decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru on Nov 14th, birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi on Nov 29th and Constitution Day on Nov 19th in a befitting manner. The function to celebrate Pt Nehru Jayanti on Nov 14th will be held at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu.
