VC’s guards fire in air, cause panic

Srinagar, Nov 12: Security guards of Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, Dr Neelofar Khan, this evening fired several shots in air causing panic in Zakoora area of Srinagar.
An official of the University quoting Khan said that she and her guards heard some firing shots when they were travelling in Zakoora area near the University and the guards fired in the air. The firing caused panic in the area.

However, a police official said that a small stone hit her car, which led to panic among guards who fired in the air.
Khan, who was in panic later told Excelsior that she is safe. “Thank God I am safe,” she said.
Senior Police officers later met the VC and spoke to the guards about the incident.
