Two HM militants held for murdering sarpanch’s father

Srinagar, May 5: Police today claimed to have solved the murder mystery of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Sarpanch’s 80-year-old father who was shot dead by gunmen in Dogripora village of Awantipora area in south Kashmir in March this year.
A police spokesman said two Over Ground Workers (OWGs) of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen have been arrested who were involved in the killing of PDP Sarpanch’s father, Ghulam Muhammad Dar.
The duo has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmed Dar son of Abdul Hameed, and Lateef Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Hassan, both residents of Dugripora, the spokesman said.
“They shot dead the sarpanch’s father along with a local a Hizb militant, Reyaz Naikoo. A manhunt has been launched to arrest Naikoo,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman claimed a Chinese pistol and 7 live rounds were recovered from the possession of these two OGWs.
