JAMMU, Nov 13: Terming the resolution passed by the National Conference (NC) for the restoration of Article 370 as unconstitutional, Jammu and Kashmir BJP vice president, Aseem Gupta, today said the Union Territory has experienced peace and massive development since the abrogation of its special status.
Addressing a large gathering during the BJP’s Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan, organized by the J&K BJP Kisan Morcha at Panchayat Treva in Arnia sector near International Border, Gupta highlighted the progress Jammu and Kashmir has made under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah.
Aseem Gupta noted that the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, marked the full implementation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir.
He reiterated that the resolution by the NC-Congress alliance is baseless, as the abrogation bill was passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and later upheld by the Supreme Court.
Gupta cited the hoisting of the Tricolour at Lal Chowk as a proud moment symbolizing the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India. He commented on the considerable progress since 2019, highlighting that peace prevails across the Union Territory, terrorism has significantly reduced, and more job opportunities have come up for the youth.
Gupta praised the increase in tourism, which has boosted the local economy, and added that Jammu and Kashmir has effectively joined India’s mainstream development journey.
The Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan had the participation from several prominent leaders, including BJP Kisan Morcha president, Sarbjit Singh Johal and Sarpanch Balbir Kour.
