SRINAGAR, Nov 13: To discuss their advance agenda, a delegation comprising the leaders of Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) called on the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leadership, including Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, here today.
The delegation was led by Qamar Ali Akhoon, MP Haneefa Jan, CEC Kargil Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon and other leaders.
The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen their efforts and seek guidance on promoting the reintegration of Ladakh with Jammu & Kashmir.
In a parallel move, Sajjad Kargili, the head of the Political Wing of Islamia School Kargil, along with a team, met with PDP leader Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi in Jammu.
During this meeting, they conveyed the KDA’s position.
Later, Aga Muntazir Mehdi issued a press statement urging the inclusion of “Ladakh” in the recent resolution passed in the Kashmir Assembly regarding the restoration of Article 370, a resolution that has been broadly rejected and condemned across India.
“These actions reflect the KDA leadership’s persistent efforts to push for the reunification of Ladakh with Jammu and Kashmir, often without consulting or involving the Apex Body Leh’s leaders and the people of Ladakh, including the Apex Body of Leh. This unilateral approach raises significant concerns regarding the transparency and intentions behind the KDA’s demand for Statehood, which they have consistently prioritized over the four-point agenda of KDA-ABL,” he said.
“It is now imperative for all of us, who always supported “Free Ladakh From Kashmir” and oppose Ladakh’s reunification with Jammu & Kashmir to carefully rethink the KDA’s motives and the integrity of their actions, ensuring that the aspirations and voices of all Ladakhis are considered in shaping the future of Ladakh,” he added.
