Scholars allege conspiracy to neglect Sanskrit subject

JAMMU, Nov 13: Alleging conspiracy to neglect Sanskrit subject, some scholars today claimed that the vacancies in higher secondary schools in Jammu and Kashmir, referred to the Public Service Commission for filling up the same, do not include even a single post for Sanskrit subject.
Talking to media persons, here today, they demanded that the Education Minister must provide justice to Sanskrit students and scholars by offering posts in the subject as soon as possible. Click here to watch video
Veena Sharma , PhD scholar of Sanskrit, said that this was not the first instance of neglect towards the Sanskrit. Citing past instances of curriculum and teacher recruitment abandonment, she alleged a conspiracy to obliterate Sanskrit at the college level, as it has not been introduced as a course. She warned the administration of a massive protest if action is not taken within a reasonable time.
Students and scholars from Jammu University’s Sanskrit Department were present in the press conference and they expressed serious concern over the matter.
