Man arrested in Rs 47 lakh fraud case

JAMMU, Nov 13: Police in Satwari area have booked and arrested one individual who allegedly committed a fraud of Rs 47 lakh.
According to police, one Harbans Singh of Karan Bagh lodged a written complaint with police station Satwari, stating therein that he befriended one person Akhil Pandita, who promised to send the complainant’s two sons abroad.
Accordingly, he (Pandita) asked for Rs 47 lakh and despite receiving the money, the accused didn’t send his wards abroad, said the police official, adding that neither he returned the money of the complainant.
As such the complainant approached Police Station Satwari and on his complaint, a case under the relevant sections of the law was registered at concerned police station.
Thereafter, different police teams were constituted to trace and arrest the accused. Finally, they succeeded in arresting the accused today, who has been lodged behind the bars, with further investigation set into the motion.
