SAMBA, Nov 15: MLA Samba and BJP vice president JK UT, Surjeet Singh Slathia today called for prioritizing developmental projects and completion of utility services in a time bound manner to ease the living of the people.
Laying foundation of improvement and augmentation of Water Supply Scheme in Samba town under UT CAPEX budget, Slathia said basic amenities like safe tap water, power and health and hygiene should be top most priority and the executing agencies must focus on their completion in mission mode.
The scheme’s estimated cost is Rs 1.14 crore.
Interacting with the locals on the occasion, Slathia, highlighted the critical role of development projects that have uplifted communities and provided a much-needed impetus to the local economy, especially during the past five years.
“Our collective efforts should be aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir. The steps taken in various sectors like education, healthcare, employment, and connectivity have brought remarkable progress, and it is incumbent upon the new Government to carry this forward with dedication,” he said.
Slathia referred to several transformative initiatives implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, ranging from infrastructure development to social empowerment under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, saying these path breaking steps have ensured long-lasting benefits for all sections of society as per the cherished agenda of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas.
He exhorted the officers to implement the schemes that reflect the aspirations of the people of J&K. This will be a leap forward in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of a “Naya Jammu and Kashmir”, he added
