JAMMU, May 6: Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University Prof Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur ML Kumawat and Chief Engineer (CE), Project Beacon Brigadier RK Sharma called on NN Vohra, Governor, here at Raj Bhavan, today.
During meeting with Prof Ahmad, Governor discussed important issues relating to the functioning of the University and its Leh, Kargil and Baramulla off- site campuses and certain concerns about maintenance of academic discipline.
Prof Talat also apprised the Governor about the picture emerging after the conclusion of the recent admission to the University.
ML Kumawat, Vice Chancellor, Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur during meeting briefed Governor about the teaching and research being done at this University.
Emphasizing the very high importance which needs to be given to secure the maintenance of internal security the Governor urged the Vice Chancellor for high priority being devoted to identified training and orientation courses being run for in-service officers of the Police and Judicial services.
In the meeting with Chief Engineer, Project Beacon Brigadier RK Sharma, Governor was briefed about the update position in regard to the Z-Morh and Zojila Tunnel projects and about the clearances which are still awaited.
Governor urged Brig Sharma to deploy increased work force for the urgent repair of all major roads, particularly those which will be under intensive use with the commencement of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
