JAMMU, Nov 18: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Budhal Unit, today organized a membership drive at Koteranka, which witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of BJP workers and was graced by senior BJP leader and former Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali.
In his address, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali criticized the National Conference (NC) for its unfulfilled promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir during election campaigns. Highlighting NC’s electoral commitments such as providing free LPG cylinders, free electricity, and the restoration of Article 370, he urged the party to fulfil these assurances rather than mislead the public with hollow rhetoric.
Speaking on the restoration of Statehood, Zulfkar Ali remarked: “Restoration of Statehood is not an issue as it is the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the residents of J&K. BJP is dedicated to fulfilling the aspirations of the people with sincerity and transparency.”
Zulfkar Ali also lambasted NC’s communal agenda, emphasizing that BJP stands firmly for inclusive development. He called upon party workers to remain dedicated to serving the people selflessly, working around the clock to address their concerns and build trust within the community.
The program was spearheaded by senior BJP leader & District General Secretary BJP Rajouri Manzoor Ahmed Naik, who expressed concerns over the harassment of BJP workers in Budhal Assembly by some corrupt officials. Issuing a strong warning, he asked such officials to perform their duties with honesty and sincerity.
Naik also provided detailed guidance to workers on the methods of enrolling new members and set a clear target to achieve the membership drive’s objectives by December 6.
Senior BJP Leader Dev Raj Sharma also addressed the gathering. Other senior leaders present were Shafiq Chowdhary, Fazal Chauhan, Nazir Mohd, Shabir Sarpanch, Ramesh Chander, Younas Naz, Khurshid Alam, Taj Thakker, Mohd Mushtaq, Latief Kamlak, Aziz Wani, Jagat Ram and Sufi Alam Din.
