JAMMU, Nov 19: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri today appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister to release the pending installments of 3% DA.
The installments are due from July this year in favour of J&K Government employees and pensioners, as the same has been released by the Central as well as several State Governments including Ladakh to their employees and pensioners.
Addressing a press conference, Shastri said, “The DA is part of salary and routine financial matter and as such there should be no hitch in releasing it. The Government should release this at the earliest so that the employees and pensioners would heave a sigh of relief from the rising prices of essential commodities.”
He urged upon PM Modi to appoint Chairman and other members of the 8th Pay Commission and take a decision in this regard at the earliest and start discussion with representatives of both Central and State Government employees and pensioners as appointment of Chairman will end confusion and uncertainty among employees and pensioners on this issue once for all.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Ram Singh, Raman Sharma, ex-Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Darshan Baba, Chaman Lal, Vinod Kumar, Birbal Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
