SRINAGAR, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Satish Sharma on Wednesday said the enhanced ration quota and 12 gas cylinders will be a new year gift for the people of JK.
Sharma was talking to reporters in Srinagar.
The National Conference in its poll manifesto promised to provide 12 LPG cylinders to the economically weaker sections each year for free.
“We are going to announce the New Year gift for the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, the Minister said adding “additional Ration and 12 cylinders will be announced on the eve of new year”.
“Give us eleven months to fulfil the gap of 11 years of development for that we need people’s cooperation”, he said.
“First we have to get back the statehood so that all issues could be redressed and for that the Chief Minister had already met the central leadership, Sharma said.
“I believe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personally committed to restoring statehood, and after that, all other issues will be addressed,” he said.
In reply to a question, the Minister said that all preparation for the coming winter months have been taken up and all sufficient dumping of essentials have already been made.
