REASI, May 8: A youth committed suicide by jumping into Chenab river at village Kanthan in Arnas, here this evening.
Identified as Jeetu (18), son of Paras Ram of Kanthan, Arnas, the youth was seen jumping into the river by some locals around 9 p.m.
Before anybody could come forward to rescue the youth, he had disappeared in the strong flow of water.
Due to night hours, no rescue operation could be started today.
