Special screening of Hindi film ‘Kyun’ organized for Old Age Home inmates

JAMMU, Nov 25: Karismatic Productions, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sanrakshan Manch, hosted a special screening of the Hindi feature film ‘Kyun’ at the Old Age Home in Amphalla, offering a heartfelt cinematic experience for its residents and others from the local community.
The film, written, produced, and directed by Jammu’s own Jayesh Gupta, was first released in 2018 and garnered widespread acclaim for its compelling message and emotional depth. This special screening held a deeper resonance as the film sheds light on the realities of old age homes and delivers a profound message about love, care, and responsibility towards the elderly.
‘Kyun’ stands out not only for its socially relevant theme but also for its authenticity, as approximately half of the movie was filmed on location at the Amphalla Old Age Home. The cast includes JS Babli, Rakesh Gupta, Naresh Kumar Kesar, Nitish Koul, Theeshali Gupta, and Raghu Vaid, who brought the poignant narrative to life with their moving performances.
Before the screening, Jayesh Gupta addressed the audience, expressing the film’s intent to inspire society to honour and care for its elders. “We aimed to deliver a strong message through this film. If it resonates and brings about change, then all our hard work will be worthwhile,” he remarked. He emphasized the irreplaceable value of parental love, which is selfless and unconditional, urging viewers to cherish and support their parents, especially in their twilight years.
Gupta shared a personal connection with the screening, recalling his promise to the Old Age Home residents during the film’s production. “Today, I am fulfilling my commitment made years ago,” he said, visibly moved by the occasion.
The event was met with heartfelt appreciation from the inmates, who watched the film with keen interest, visibly touched by its relatable theme. The screening not only rekindled cherished memories but also reinforced the timeless message of love and respect for the elderly.
