JAMMU, May 9: J&K Branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organized a seminar on newly enacted Companies Act 2013 wherein Manoj Kumar Bagri, Registrar of Companies, J&K was the chief guest.
CA Anil Sharma from Delhi, who was the guest faculty on the topic of Companies Act 2013, deliberated in detail about the newly enacted provisions of the Act and the rules framed there under. He said that there are now 29 Chapters against the earlier 13 & 470 Sections against 658 Sections in the erstwhile Companies Act 1956.
He discussed the new concepts that have been introduced like Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), One man Company (OPC), fast track mode of Merger/Amalgamation in case of small companies, acceptance of Deposit Rules etc.
The speaker further highlighted the new role that can be taken by professionals that of registered valuer, Internal Administrator for Revival of Companies, Company Liquidator etc.
Manoj Kumar Bagri, ROC J&K, in his key note address, shared the departmental view on the operational aspects of the topic.
CA Vikram Garg, Chairman J&K Branch, delivered the inaugural address and emphasized on the importance of the topics of the seminar. He highlighted the greater role of auditors in Company Audit in the changed scenario.
CA Shalay Razdan, Secretary J&K Branch of ICAI, conducted the proceedings and CA Sandeep Pachnanda, vice-chairman presented the vote of thanks.
CA  Dalip Kaul (Ex-chairman), CA Anil Sharma (treasurer), CA  Deepak Kapahi alongwith a large number of Chartered Accountants participated in the seminar.
