BANDIPORA, Nov 28: To assess and strengthen the strategies implemented to address drug abuse in the district, a District Level Committee meeting under the Narco Coordination (NCORD) mechanism was today held at Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, threadbare discussed various strategies to curb and tackle substance abuse.
During the meeting, officers from concerned departments presented a brief of the Action Taken Report and ongoing initiatives in this regard.
The officers highlighted their contributions and evaluated the effectiveness of current measures being implemented in the district.
While reviewing the efforts and measures of concerned departments, the DC stressed the vital importance of coordinated efforts among agencies to address this pressing issue effectively.
Additionally, he highlighted the need for strong measures aimed at tackling drug-related challenges and secure a healthier future for the youth.
He emphasized the importance of targeted awareness campaigns aimed at vulnerable groups particularly school dropouts, emphasizing the need to educate them about the dangers of drug abuse and the support services available for prevention and intervention.
Qadri underscored the pivotal role of religious leaders in educating parents about disastrous affects of drug abuse and educational institutions in spreading awareness about its harmful effects.
