RAJOURI, Nov 28: Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi Led Government in the Centre.
This was stated by Wasim Kohli, vice president of the BJP ST Cell J&K and Prabhari of the ST Cell for district Rajouri, in a statement issued today. He specifically highlighted the remarkable development in the Rajouri region, particularly in the Kalakote constituency.
“Between 2014 and 2017, under the leadership of former Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli, 26 roads were constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and the Public Works Department (PWD). These projects, supported by the Central Government, significantly improved connectivity and infrastructure in the region,” he added.
Kohli also noted the transformative measures introduced to support marginalized communities. He said free ration distribution schemes have ensured food security for the underprivileged, while the opening of a passport office in Rajouri has brought essential services closer to the people. Tribal communities have also benefited from animal husbandry schemes, encouraging youth in the Kashmir valley to embrace dairy farming as a sustainable livelihood, he added.
Acknowledging the positive impact of Jal Jeevan Mission, development of road networks, highways, and tunnels across Rajouri, Poonch, Jammu, Srinagar, and Kathua districts, alongside improvements in electricity supply to remote areas, Kohli reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to the upliftment of tribal and downtrodden communities, emphasizing that the Party’s inclusive approach has brought tangible benefits to the people of J&K.
