JAMMU, Nov 28: Public Works (R&B) Department has ordered attachment of an Executive Engineer and suspension of an AEE besides initiating an inquiry into alleged lapses in the execution of construction works in Reasi.
As per an order issued by Secretary PW(R&B) Department, Executive Engineer PMGSY Reasi, Neeraj Vaid shall remain attached in the office of Chief Engineer, PMGSY Jammu with immediate effect, pending inquiry into the conduct.

Sarwar Mehmood, Executive Engineer, PW(R&B), Division Udhampur, shall hold the charge of Executive Engineer PMGSY Reasi, in addition to his own duties, till further orders.
According to a separate order, issued earlier, an inquiry has been initiated into the alleged lapses in the execution of construction works of Gali to Moungri and Moungri to Ladda Roads in Reasi district.
A committee, comprising Tanvir Mir (Engineer-in-chief, PWD, Atul Bali (chief Engineer, DIQC, J&K and Mehmood Ahmed (SE, Research Wing DIQC) shall conduct inquiry into the alleged lapses and fix responsibility off officers/officials associated with the project. The committee shall submit its report along with recommendations within a period of 10 days.
Meanwhile, the department has also ordered suspension of Mubarak Ahmad Ganaie, Incharge AEE (Civil), R&B, Sub Division Sopore, who was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, last month. He shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension with effect from the date of his arrest i.e 16-10-2024.
During the period of his suspension, Ganaie shall remain attached with the office of Chief Engineer, PW(R&B) North Kashmir.
Consequent upon the arrest and suspension of Mubarak Ahmed Ganaie, Mukhtar Ahmad Magray, Incharge AEE, PW(R&B), Sub division Zainageer, shall look after the charge of R&B Sub Division Sopore, till further orders.
