The terror associate was in constant touch with his handlers across the border through various social media channels and was trying to revive militancy in the area by creating foothold for anti-national elements in Doda district.
Incriminating material including documents were recovered from his possession.
SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta said the terror associate was trying to carry out subversive acts in and around Doda on connivance with active terrorists and their handlers operating from Pakistan/PoJK.
Meanwhile, nearly two dozen suspects have been detained by the police during region-wide crackdown on the OGWs and terror suspects during past three to four days.
Raids were carried out in most of the districts of the Jammu region during past few days after identification of OGWs/terror associates and other anti-national elements.
The crackdown was aimed at targeting the terror support base in the Jammu region as the cops searched more than 50 locations.
The police also registered various cases against OGWs and detained them for questioning.
However, exact number of the arrests will be known by tomorrow as questioning of some of the suspects is still going on.
The search operations are in response to the recent terror attacks.
“Last few months there were terrorist attacks and we also had successful encounters. We have started a crackdown on support system to this terrorist network,” a police official said.
Meanwhile, security forces recovered two IEDs and explosive material during a search operation in Poonch district today.
After a suspicious object was reportedly noticed under the Chajla bridge in Mendhar, the area was immediately cordoned off, and the Bomb Disposal Squad was called in, they added.
Two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), over one kg of explosives suspected to be RDX, a battery, two blankets and some eatables were seized, officials said.
Further investigation is underway, they added.
