DODA, Nov 30: One person died and two others went missing after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into the River Chenab in Doda district today, officials said.

The accident occurred around 8:30 am when the vehicle (JK06B-2993), driven by one Ranjeet Kumar (25), veered off course while en route to Jammu from Charya village, they said, adding that Kumar was traveling with his relatives, Beli Ram (60) and Puro Devi (70).
Soon after the accident, a rescue operation was launched by the police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), officials said.
During the search, the body of Puro Devi was recovered from the river, they said.
However, the driver, Ranjeet Kumar, and Beli Ram remained untraceable as efforts to locate them continued at the time of reporting.
