SMC removes encroachment, seizes polythene

SRINAGAR, May 10: Srinagar Municipal Corporation has removed a major encroachment at Gulberg Colony in Hyderpora today as part of its demolishing illegal encroachments in Srinagar.
SMC spokesperson, Marsrat Yousuf, claimed that the corporation’s enforcement squad led by Chief Enforcement Officer, Nisar Ahmad Shah, removed illegally encroached upon road side which was giving inconvenience to the inhabitants in Hyderpora.
She said four quintals of polythene was recovered from a shopkeeper dealing with packaging material at Dalgate during a market checking under the supervision of Anti-polythene drive officer, Mir Mansoor.
“A fine of Rs 10000 was recovered from the defaulter,” she said.
