KATHUA, Dec 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today stated that saints, enlightened citizens and administrative machinery must work together to serve the humanity.
He was addressing a gathering at the residence of MLA Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia, in the Kathua district, where he interacted with and sought the blessing of renowned religious scholar Swami Ram Swarup Yogacharya.
During their meeting, LG Manoj Sinha discussed with Swami Ram Swarup Yogacharya the importance of promotion and preservation of Jammu and Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
Sinha also sought the blessings of Swami Ram Swarup Yogacharya for peace and prosperity in the Union Territory.
Sinha described Swami Ram Swarup Yogacharya as an enlightened saint, Yoga Guru, and a renowned scholar. He lauded the latter’s contributions to Sanskrit and his efforts in promoting India’s civilization values.
“Swami Ram Swarup’s selfless service inspires us to strengthen our traditional and cultural heritage and work for societal welfare,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to preserving India’s rich traditions under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He emphasized the importance of propagating Indian cultural values and the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam-the world as one family.
He added that India, with its historical legacy and talented people, is advancing towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Calling for collective action, Sinha urged saints, citizens, and the administrative machinery to work together to serve humanity.
He highlighted the need for a social awakening to ensure equity, justice, and grassroots development.
“Saints have to be the conscience keepers, guiding society toward a brighter future. It is essential for individuals to rise above vested interests and embrace leadership in every sphere of life,” he said.
Swami Ram Swarup Yogacharya delivered sermons emphasizing the teachings of Vedas, which promote universal brotherhood.
He stressed the relevance of Vedic knowledge, which, he said, emanates directly from God and applies universally, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and colour.
Swami Ram Swarup observed that the absence of Vedic education has led to societal deviations and emphasized the need to reintroduce Vedic studies in schools and universities to build a stronger nation.
The religious event included hawan and yagna rituals conducted by Swami Ram Swarup, which drew hundreds of devotees.
Swami Ram Swarup also held preaching sessions from Ved-Shastras and performed spiritual songs composed by him, inspired by the Vedas and teachings of saints.
He reiterated that adhering to Vedic principles is essential for building a harmonious society.
He emphasized the duty of every citizen and government to promote these teachings to ensure societal upliftment and national progress.
The event concluded with a call to embrace Vedic values for universal peace and prosperity.
