JAMMU, Dec 1: Kashmir Displaced Wing of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) in a meeting here, today outrightly rejected the registration of housing Society in Kashmir for return of displaced Pandits.
In a joint statement issued here, the senior leaders of the party including Sanjay Dhar its Chairman, P L Thusoo, general secretary, Raj Kumar Tickoo and Daizy Dhar rejected the registration of Housing Society by some self styled leaders. They, while questioning the reported move said the community should not be misled this way as no return formula that ignores the basic issues of the community will be acceptable.
They said the Kashmiri Pandits leading an exiled life for last 35 years crave for return but the Government needs to frame a concrete plan for the same by discussing its contours with genuine leadership of the community. They said no return move will be permanent and everlasting which fails to take the geo-political aspirations of the community into consideration.
The meeting urged the Prime Minister and Home Minister that Government should frame a workable return module which will be acceptable to entire community whether living in camps or non camp areas at Jammu and other parts of the country.
They said no return and rehabilitation without the foolproof system of retention can be workable.
