JAMMU, May 10: Miscreants made an attempt of dacoity in a house at Green Avenue under the jurisdiction of Nowabad Police Station tonight with playing toy gun.
As per police sources, some unidentified miscreants attempted dacoity in the house of Prof Uppal, a resident of Green Enclave by brandishing a toy gun.
As the family members raised alarm, the dacoits escaped from the spot. One of the family members grapped with the dacoit and, in the process, sustained minor injuries on his hand.
Family members informed the police about the incident.
On getting information, police parties led by SP City Yougal Manhas rushed to the spot and started a manhunt to hunt the accused.
A case in this regard was registered at police post Canal Road.
Meanwhile, demanding security, the residents of the area blocked the Talab Tillo road to lodge their protest.
On getting information, police officials rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and traffic movement was restored.
