LS poll: Modi addressed 437 election meetings in the country; 79 in UP

LUCKNOW, May 11:
BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi single handedly led the campaign for the party in the Lok Sabha elections creating a ‘Modi wave’ in the country.
Mr Modi reached every nook and corner of the country by addressing at least 437 election meetings, covering around 3 lakh kilometers to reach 25 states. State BJP spokesperson Chandramohan said here today that in Uttar Pradesh alone Narendra Modi addressed 79 election meetings covering 39,000 kilometers. Besides the election meetings, the BJP’s PM nominee had addressed seven Vijay Shankhnaad rallies before the announcement of the election dates.
Mr Modi also addressed through 3D Holographics rallies at 544 places in 70 LS constituencies in UP while held discussions with the people at 75 places in 70 LS seats over ‘Chai Par Charcha’.
Besides this, the state BJP brought out 403 raths, which covered 6 lakh kms and went to 95,000 villages to cater the audio-visual speeches of Mr Modi before 100 million people, Mr Chandramohan claimed. Mr Modi’s messages also reached to half a million people mostly youths through social media like Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and Livechat.
BJP president Rajnath Singh too campaigned in a big way in UP with addressing 57 election meetings. Mr Singh also attended eight Vijay Shankhaanad rallies and held four big rallies at Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur and Bareilly.
BJP vice- president and former UP president Kalyan Singh too attended 29 election meetings while fire-brand BJP MP from Gorakhpur Yogi Adityanath addressed 46 election meetings.
Other senior BJP leaders who also campaigned in UP for the party candidates includes former party president Nitin Gadkari, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad, eminent Dalit thinker Udit Raj, former army chief General VK Singh, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parikar, former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, Bollywood star Hema Malini, Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari and bollyWood actor Vivek Oberoi.
