UDHAMPUR, Dec 5: In an apparent case of suicide, a student of 11th standard was found hanging at his rental house in Shiv Nagar Udhampur, here today.
According to the police report, Sumit, son of Chanchal Singh, a resident of Galiot in Panchari, was found hanging from ceiling fan hook under mysterious circumstances.
On being informed by some locals, a team from Police Station Udhampur rushed to the spot and took the dead body in their custody. Later, the body was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for the post-mortem and other legal formalities.
The deceased was a student of Higher Secondary School Udhampur and cause of apparent suicide could not be ascertained. Udhampur Police have registered the case in this connection and started further investigation.
