JAMMU, May 12: Women Empowerment Centre was inaugurated at Qila Darhal by Maj Gen Saranjeet Singh, GOC 25 Infantry Division with the aim of creating gender equality and empowering women in the area, today.
On the occasion, Maj Gen Saranjeet Singh spoke about the important role of women and the special status they deserve in society. He reiterated that all sections of society must work unitedly towards empowering women and creating opportunities for their personal growth.
Adding he said, that “centre will provide a platform to the women of the area to learn and hone the skills of stitching and knitting, all the modern equipment, machinery and raw materials for the same have been provided in the centre”.
This project has been jointly undertaken under “Op Sadbhavana” by Head Quarters 80 Infantry Brigade and the civil administration, including Deepti Uppal, SDM, Naushera and Mohd Nawaz, Tehsildar, Nowshera Tehsil.
