UDHAMPUR, May 12: Three-day free eye & ENT screening and surgical camp was jointly organized by NHPC Limited Sewa II Power Station Mashka & Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur at Sarthli & Khairi Hospital which concluded yesterday.
392 patients (228 Eye + 164 ENT) were examined in the camp and out of which 23 patients of eye were operated for implantation of Intra ocular Lens at Khairi Hospital and 4 patients referred to Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur. 25 ENT patients will be operated at Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur on 23rd May 2014. In this camp 43 hearing aids were distributed to poor people.
The camp was inaugurated by P K Langer, Chief Engineer Sewa II Power Station in presence of Rtn D N Sharma chairman Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur, Dr Pulak Tarapdhar, Dy CMO, Dr S K Sablok and other prominent citizens of Bani area.
Rtn D N Sharma Chairman Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur extended heartfelt thanks to Chief Engineer NHPC Ltd for extending full support to Rotary Eye Hospital for achieving the core objective to prevent and eradicate the avoidable blindness.
The patients suffering with cataract blindness and other eye ailments were operated by Dr M K Yadav and patients suffering with ENT diseases examined by Dr Rakesh Sharma.
President Rotary Club of Nahan along with PP Rtn Dr Sablok also participated in the said camp. They provided 5 number of hearing aids and 1 wheel chair to Sub District Hospital Bani.
Rtn D N Sharma Chairman Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur committed to organize such eye camps in future too to eradicate blindness from far flung areas of Bani.
