Garment suppliers held with 17 kg ‘Nagchatri’

DODA, May 12: Police arrested three garment suppliers hailing from Amritsar along with 17 kilograms of forest produce ‘Nagchatri’.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan told that on specific information, police team from Doda police station conducted a raid in a room at a hotel and recovered 17 kilograms of forest produce “Nagchatri”.
SSP added that three persons namely Pardeep Kumar, son of Subash Chander of Katra Safaid, Amritsar, Deepak Arora, son of Brij Lal Arora of Namak Mandi Amritsar and Raman Puri, son of Hira Lal Puri of Beri Gate Amritsar were arrested on the spot.
The arrested persons in the disguise of garment suppliers were found involved in illegal sale of this forest produce in the town for illegitimate gains, SSP stated.
A case under FIR number 80/14 under Section 379 RPC and 6 Forest Act has been registered at Doda police station and investigation started.
