JAMMU, May 13: The Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, A.K. Thatai today unveiled the second edition of Income Tax Department’s in-house magazine “Aayakar Shikhar”.
This edition of “Aayakar Shikhar” is second in the series of magazine being published by the Department in J&K as a showcase of depicting not only the various activities undertaken by the Income Tax Department in J&K but also to bring out the hidden artistic talent amongst the officers and officials working in the Department.
The various articles featured in the magazine are the original contributions of the officers and officials working in the Department.
According to Mr Thatai the magazine is a medium to depict the heritage, art and culture of this state and would carry the message from the state to the other parts of the country so that people working in the other parts have a fairly good idea about the rich heritage culture and the nature’s endowments bestowed upon the state of J&K.
The theme of this year is basically the rich heritage of art and culture and also the natural beautiful fauna and flora of J&K and also depicts as to how the human being has changed the nature’s fury for its betterment in the state.
It may not be out of place to mention that the idea of in-house magazine was conceived by Mr Thatai in the year 2012 and when the first edition came, the theme was religious, brotherhood and unity in diversity in the state of J&K.
While unveiling the magazine, Mr Thatai thanked Governor N N Vohra for his blessings and patronage and also Chairman CBDT, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Chandigarh and Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Amritsar for their support and encouragement.
B.B. Singh, the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), J&K also spoke about how the magazine was conceived and finally delivered. R.K. Kakar, the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-1, Rakesh Kumar, the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-2, Mini Chandran U., Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (HQ) and Rajni Sharma, Member Editorial Board also spoke at the occasion.
