JAMMU, Dec 10: The Girls’ Hostels, University of Jammu opened a facility, an extension of the cooperative mess, which will be run by the boarders of girls’ hostels on a rotation basis among them. The facility has been named by boarders as Campus Cravings.
Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu, inaugurated the facility and commended the efforts of the Campus Cravings team. She encouraged the boarders to embrace this unique initiative and pledged her support as a mentor. Sharing words of inspiration, she remarked: “Women possess the strength and determination to overcome any challenge and achieve greatness.”
In the welcome address, Prof Shashi Manhas, Provost Girls Hostel, University of Jammu, said that such initiatives motivate the boarders. She emphasised that this facility can be a place of sharing ideas and nation building efforts. She informed that this facility, with all the infrastructure will be provided by the hostel administration to any team which shows interest and commitment in running the facility on a rotation basis after hours in the hostel premises.
Dr Chinmoyee Maharana, Warden Sarojini Naidu Girls Hostel, shared some insights from past meetings and said that it is road map for a successful beginning that can be taken up by these boarders as a venture for an independent career in future and can set themselves as the role model for other girls boarders.
Dr Meenakshi, Warden CBGH; Dr Skarma, Warden PDGH; Dr Sonia, Resident Warden CBGH; Dr Sushma, Resident Warden SNGH; office assistants from all girls’ hostels, Rupinder, Seema, Dimple and all the employees enjoyed the ambience and fervour of this new beginning.
