Drug peddler held with heroin

JAMMU, Dec 10: Jammu Police has arrested a drug peddler in Gujjar Nagar and seized 4.23 grams of heroin, commonly referred to as “chitta”.
The operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs by a team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Peer Mitha, with assistance from the In-Charge Police Post (ICPP) Gujjar Nagar.
The accused, identified as Asif Ali, son of Sher Baz, and a resident of House Number 150, Gujjar Nagar, was apprehended during the operation. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to trace the source of the contraband and to identify any connections to a broader drug network.
