Old Janipur Civil Society discusses issues

JAMMU, Dec 11: A meeting of J&K Civil Society Old Janipur was held here today under the chairmanship of Kulwant Singh Sambyal where issues pertaining to the locality were discussed.
Speakers in the meeting said that JMC should install a container near a school opposite to the temple at Mohalla Shant Nagar for garbage collection.
Installation of CCTV cameras connected with the Police Station was also demanded along with cutting of the branches of big trees at Mohalla Ram Vihar JDA Park Old Janipur and Mohalla Shant Nagar JDA Park.
Other members of the Society demanded repair of lanes and drains and blacktopping of roads in Shant Nagar, Pandoka Colony, Indra Vihar, Kabir Nagar and adjoining areas to the JDA Park of Old Janipur.
They also said that residents near the Park are disturbed by the playing of cricket, football, cycling, stray dogs and open consumption of liquor in the Park. They demanded that all such activities should be stopped immediately.
Issue of damaged street lights in the area was also discussed and the demand for a watchman at the Park and construction of Nag temple and a hut there for senior citizens to take rest was raised.
Still another demand raised in the meeting was that of an ambulance at Mohalla Ram Vihar Dispensary.
