BANIHAL, Dec 14: NC leader and MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen here today convened a meeting with Sub-Divisional Officers of Banihal and Ramsoo, Tehsildars Banihal, Khari, Ramsoo and Ukharhal, Executive Engineers, officers of PHE, Food and Supplies, Health Department and officers of PDD to review the power situation in Banihal, Gool and adjoining areas.
The meeting focused on addressing challenges posed by plummeting temperatures and the increasing hardships faced by the people due to erratic power supply.
Expressing concern over unscheduled and frequent power outages, Shaheen directed the officials to adhere strictly to the announced curtailment schedule.
He reaffirmed the commitment of NC to address the energy needs of the people.
The MLA also underscored the need to combat power pilferage and urged officials to implement stringent enforcement measures to minimize losses.
He stressed that a reliable and equitable power supply system is vital to safeguard the well-being of the public, especially in remote and hilly regions where harsh winter conditions exacerbate daily hardships.
Shaheen later inspected PDD’s transformer workshop and called upon the administration to prioritize the basic needs of the public including electricity, clean drinking water and essential supplies.
