NC failed to fulfill poll promises: Purnima

JAMMU, Dec 14: BJP spokesperson Purnima Sharma today alleged that National Conference (NC) misguided voters of J&K with fake poll promises just before the Assembly polls to gain their votes. “Now, after the two months of NC Government in the UT, they miserably failed to live up to their promises, stated Purnima Sharma, spokesperson, J&K BJP while talking to reporters here, today along with Neha Mahajan, general secretary, Mahila Morcha, J&K BJP.
Purnima Sharma said that the NC Government has failed delivering on their promises especially in their women centric approach, employment generation in energy sector and incentive-linked mini hydropower generation projects including solar power projects.
Purnima said that the NC promised to provide 200 free units of electricity and free drinking water to each household.
They also had said that they would implement a one-time settlement for pending electricity bill arrears in both rural and urban areas.
The NC has said to provide Rs. 5000 per month to female heads of households to EWS and 12 cylinders free of cost per year to EWS.
NC had promised to enhance the old age and widow pension to Rs 3000.
Moreover NC had promised that women would be entitled to travel free in all public transport and would enhance the marriage assistance from Rs 50000 to Rs 75000 to EWS. They also promised to increase the Medical Allowance of pensioners and family pensioners from existing Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, she added.
The party had promised to establish Minority Commission and Two senior citizen homes one each in Jammu and Srinagar with facilities of sports, recreation, reading and writing, etc
Purnima said before elections, NC had promised to increase free rice/ Atta allocation to 10 kg per person per month for the general public. Also, the allocation of kerosene and sugar, similar to the approach taken by other states.
They promised to strengthen the PDS and make it people friendly and guaranteed that the PDS outlets are stocked adequately and that there is a timely supply of food grains to avoid shortages. Likewise sky was also promised in health sector.
She reminded the NC of all the fake poll promises made to the residents of J&K and said that instead of being people friendly, NC Government is trying to enjoy the power while delivering nothing on ground.
