RAJOURI, Dec 14: A young Post Office employee made unsuccessful attempt on his life in Nowshera area of Rajouri today.
Reports said a 26-year-old Government employee, identified as Mani Verma, son of Sandhya Verma, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, attempted suicide by jumping from the TCP Bridge near Nowshera on the Jammu-Poonch highway today.
Timely intervention by the traffic police and Jammu and Kashmir Police saved the young man’s life. He was immediately rescued and shifted to the Sub-District Hospital, Nowshera, for treatment.
BMO Nowshera, Dr Iqbal Malik, said that after receiving primary medical treatment, the patient was referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for advanced care.
The reason behind this drastic step is yet to be ascertained. Authorities are conducting investigation into the matter.
