Dogra institution honoured by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute

JAMMU, Dec 14: International Institute of J&K Studies and Analyses (IIJSA) Jammu-a Dogra institution headed by Brigadier Dr Vijay Sagar Dheman has been accredited by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) Sweden.
This honour was bestowed upon IIJSA Jammu following presentation of a paper on “Vilification of Indian Army in the Valley and the Human Rights Record” by Brig DR Dheman in a seminar organized by a think tank from California, 3Strands Global Foundation which is ECOSOC body affiliated to UNHRC. This seminar was sponsored by SIPRI Sweden.
It’s a great honour for a Jammu think tank working tirelessly for revival of Dogra valour details amongst the minds of Dogras particularly the young minds. “I expect all Dogras irrespective of religion, caste, creed or gender to come up with and collaborate with other Dogras working in various field to tell the true character of Dogra race which resides between River Byas and River Jhelum,” said Dr Dheman while commenting upon this achievement.
In October 2024, IIJSA team headed by Brigadier Dr Dheman, assisted by Prof Aekta Gupta and Dr Shalini Rana and the team, produced an exceptional seminar about the heroics of Dogras on Jhelum Valley Road due to which Kashmir could be saved from Pak invaders. The seminar “Brigadier Rajinder Singh: Incredible Week 22 Oct 1947-27 Oct 1947” was chaired by Dr Karan Singh who had tremendous accolades for the effort put in and he announced that this would be an annual affair on 23 October.
Immediately after this, Brigadier Dr Dheman presented a paper on “Terrorism in J&K Post Abrogation of Art 370″at a seminar organized by IWAS Dubai chaired by the Sheikh Mohamud Bin Rashid Al Maktum, Prime Minister of UAE in Dubai on 19 November 2024. Brigadier Dr Vijay Sagar Dheman, besides other geo strategic aspects of terrorism in J&K, highlighted the role played by Dogras in containing the insurgency by way of VDGs and other exceptional measures.
