RAMBAN, Dec 15: A total of 542 cases were disposed off amicably in the National Lok Adalat held in District Court Complex, Ramban under the chairmanship of Deepak Sethi, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge).
The Lok Adalat was held by District Judiciary and assisted by Advocate A R Mushtaq. Nine benches comprising of Judicial Officers and Advocates were constituted across all courts of District Ramban for amicable and speedy settlement of the cases. All types of cases such as MACT Cases, Civil Suites, Labour Disputes, Matrimonial Dispute and pre-litigations etc were taken up in the Lok Adalat.
A total number of 796 cases i.e. 702 Post-litigation and 94 Pre-litigation cases were taken up, out of which 531 Post-litigation and 11 Pre-litigation cases were disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs 4,57,02,650 in Post-litigation cases. Thus, a total award amount of Rs 4,85,97,384 was settled out.
