Burglary case solved, stolen paddy worth Rs 54,000 recovered

JAMMU, Dec 17: A burglary case in RS Pura was solved within 24 hours, with the police recovering stolen paddy crops worth Rs 54,000.
A police official said that on December 15, 2024, one Jatinder Kumar of Bhojpur, Suchetgarh, filed a written complaint with the RS Pura Police Station, stating therein that on the night of 12-13 December, unknown thieves barged into his godown by damaging the rear wall and decamped with the stored paddy crops.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 266/2024 under the relevant sections of the law was registered, and a special team was formed to investigate the crime.
The team, led by the SDPO RS Pura, along with the SHO and other officers, visited the crime scene and began gathering information from reliable sources, he said.
With the help of human and technical assistance, the police successfully identified and arrested the culprits identified as Raj Kumar of Bhojpur, Sukhdev Singh of Bhidhipur Jattan, and Mohan Choudhary of RS Pura, the police official further said.
During questioning, he said, the suspects admitted to their involvement in the theft and revealed the location of the stolen crops.
On 16 December 2024, the police recovered the stolen paddy, valued at Rs 54,000, he said.
Further investigation is underway, he added.
Pertinently, the arrests and recovery were made under the overall supervision of SP Headquarters IH Rather.
